Competition in the small car segment is expected to witness an intense competition with Honda launching its small car “Honda Brio”. 
According to the company, Brio boasts of a easy-to-handle compact body with a cabin space for 5 people. The car will be powered by a 1200cc Petrol Engine and will deliver a mileage of 20km/litre. The car is capable of delivering a maximum peak power of 89 Bhp at 6200 rpm and a torque of 110 Nm at 4800 rpm.
With the launch of the car, Honda is looking forward to capture the booming compact car segment of the country. Of late car makers have witnessed a drop in sales of cars thanks to high interest rate and prices of petrol. Honda will be facing competition from other small cars in the segment such as Ritz, Swift, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo. The car is likely to be priced around Rs 4.5 to Rs 5 lakh.
